# Calendar and autopilot

Cadence sets publication time. Autopilot prepares the work. Auto-approve controls signing.

## Calendar and plan

The calendar lists scheduled publications and articles ready to schedule. The plan previews slots, topics and their state over one or two weeks. It never generates, approves or publishes.

```
recala calendar
```

```
recala plan --weeks 2
```

## Cadence and timezone

A cadence has publication weekdays, a local time and an IANA timezone. Use an owner session to change it. A dry run validates without saving. Ambiguous or missing local times at daylight-saving transitions are skipped when finding automatic slots.

```
recala cadence show
```

```
recala cadence set --days mon,wed,fri --time 09:45 --tz Europe/Madrid --dry-run
```

## Autopilot and write-ahead

Autopilot requires both server access and the company’s consent. It assigns topics and generates ahead of their publication slots, subject to readiness and available articles in the plan. `--ahead-hours` accepts 36–336 hours; `--daily-cap` accepts 1–10 generations. These settings do not approve drafts.

Leaving `--autopilot` and `--no-autopilot` out of `cadence set` preserves existing consent. Read the plan to see skipped or blocked work rather than assuming every slot will be filled.

## Automatic approval is separate

An owner can enable auto-approve for eligible passing drafts with an active signing person. Holds and review requirements still apply. The setting saves without an interactive confirmation prompt; a key cannot change it.

```
recala autoapprove show
```

Follow [Run on autopilot](https://recala.co/developers/guides/autopilot/) to preview cadence, select a person and explicitly opt in. Turn automatic approval off with `recala autoapprove off` to return to manual review.
