# Companies

A company is the organization that owns your sources, topic queue, authors and articles.

## Choose the company

List the companies your credential can access, then select one by name, slug or id. `org` and `company` are aliases. The choice is saved on this machine; `RECALA_ORG` or `--org` can override it.

## Create and scan

A new account already has an empty company. The create flow fills that company when it is the account’s only owned company without a website; otherwise it creates one. The guided flow asks for the company name, website and language. An owner’s session is required.

Scan the website to collect onboarding information and review the extracted entities before saving them.

## Add sources to write from

Add public pages and client-provided documents to the company knowledge library. Uploads accept PDF, DOCX, Markdown, text and CSV, up to 10 MB. Ingestion can use paid model calls. Check processing before asking Recala to use a source.
