Step 1 of 6

Before you start: a Recala beta account with an organization. These steps plan work; generation and publication take place on your configured schedule.

1Install the CLI

Terminal
curl -fsSL https://recala.co/install.sh | sh
What you’ll see
The installer adds the Recala command to your machine.
If it goes wrong
Open a new terminal if the command is not found, or use uv or pipx from the install reference.

The script needs uv or pipx. Install uv first if neither is available. With pipx, use Python 3.11 or newer. Other install methods

2Sign in

Terminal
recala login
What you’ll see
A browser link and a one-time code. Sign in, type the code and approve the request.
If it goes wrong
If the code expires, run this command again and use the new code.

3Choose your organization

Terminal
recala org use <name>
What you’ll see
Your chosen organization becomes the default. Replace <name> with its name, slug or id.
If it goes wrong
List your organizations below, then use a name you have access to.
Find your organization
Terminal
recala org list

4See your calendar

Terminal
recala plan --weeks 2
What you’ll see
A read-only preview of the next two weeks: publication slots, topics and their state.
If it goes wrong
If there are no slots, set a cadence using the autopilot guide.

5Keep topics for Up next

Terminal
recala topics list
What you’ll see
Your topic queue and the ids you can use to keep a topic.
If it goes wrong
If the queue is empty, add a buyer question below or finish onboarding in the web app.

Choose a topic to keep. Replace the id, then confirm when asked.

Terminal
recala topics approve <id>
Add your first topic
Terminal
recala topics add "What should a buyer know before choosing our product?"

6Let it run

Terminal
recala cadence show
What you’ll see
Your publication days, local time, timezone and whether autopilot is on.
If it goes wrong
If no cadence is configured, follow the autopilot guide before enabling automatic approval.
Enable automatic approval when you are ready

An owner can enable this after choosing an active signing person. Passing drafts will be approved in that person’s name. Autopilot and automatic approval are separate settings.

Terminal
recala autoapprove on

Configure the cadence, author and approval policy.
